It’s publication day for Loving Spirits at the Vintage Teashop!
Happy publication day to me!
If you hadn’t got the gist of it yet (seriously?) it’s publication day! Today marks the release of the second in my Ghosts of Rowan Vale series, Loving Spirits at the Vintage Teashop, set in a beautiful living history village in the Cotswolds.
This time the story revolves around Shona, who is the manageress of Mrs Herron’s Teashop - a gorgeous little cafe in the village which is styled as a 1940s tearoom, complete with vintage china, wartime posters on the walls, Glenn Miller music playing softly in the background, and newspaper in the loos! (Don’t worry - there’s real toilet paper in there, too!)
Shona shares her home, Starling Cottage, with her dad, Jimmy. Jimmy’s aunt, Polly Herron, has the flat above the teashop which was named after her. What’s unusual about the situation is that Polly actually died back in 1948 - and not from natural causes...
No one knows the full story behind her untimely death, and Aunt Polly doesn’t like to talk about it, but when a stranger (Max) arrives in the village looking for his daughter, it gradually becomes clear that his family is somehow connected with what happened to Polly.
You’ll be able to find out if Max and Shona discover the truth about Aunt Polly’s demise, who Max’s daughter is, and how Polly feels about all this if you read the book, which you can find here!
In this story you’ll also find out a bit more about the Roman centurion, Quintus Severus, encounter the enigmatic movie star, Harmony Hill, and learn more about German cakes than you ever imagined! Warning: you might get hungry so have some yummy treats to hand!
There’s a 1940s weekend to enjoy, too, complete with vintage cars, wartime music, and a Veronica Lake ‘hairdo’ on offer at the salon, so what are you waiting for? Grab your copy and start reading!
Here’s the blurb:
An enchanting, cosy romance with a magical twist 🫖💫 Perfect for fans of Lucy Jane Wood and the hit BBC series Ghosts!
The beautiful Cotswold village of Rowan Vale is run as a living museum, allowing tourists to see history in action. But there’s more to the place than any visitor would guess... ✨
Fifty-something Shona grew up in the village and now runs its vintage, 1940s-themed teashop. Not everyone knows that the previous manager, her great-aunt Polly, still lives there too… as a ghost!
When newcomer Max arrives, hoping to find out more about the place where his German grandfather was a prisoner of war, both Shona and Polly are unsettled. Shona, because handsome, interesting Max is the first man to catch her eye since her divorce, and Polly, because she must finally confront the terrible truth about her past.
A 1940s-themed weekend planned for the village brings the families’ connections to a head and tragic secrets to light.
Can Shona help her ghostly great-aunt to find love and forgiveness once more, while also creating her own happy ever after?
The second in the comforting, feel-good, romantic series with a dash of fantasy that started with Kindred Spirits at Harling Hall. ☕️
Gorgeous paperbacks!
Loving Spirits at the Vintage Teashop is available on most platforms in most formats: ebook, paperback, large print, hardback, and audiobook - both physical and digital. You can request it from your local bookshop and library. It will also be available in Kindle Unlimited. So you’ll find it all over the place!
I really hope you enjoy reading Max and Shona’s story, and that you enjoy Polly’s story, too. I loved writing it, and I’m so glad I can finally share it with you.
Happy reading!
