Ghosts of Rowan Vale

Where the history is living—and the residents are hauntingly friendly.

My ninth and current series is a cosy ghost romance, set in a living history village in the Cotswolds. Locations that inspired me included the beautiful Gloucestershire village of Lower Slaughter, and an ancient site on the Oxfordshire and Warwickshire border.

See my short video, ‘A Day at “Rowan Vale” ‘on my YouTube channel here.

Welcome to Rowan Vale, a charming Cotswolds living history village, where the past isn’t just preserved - it’s living next door.

Ghosts of Rowan Vale is a cosy paranormal romance series, featuring the complicated love stories of the villagers who are very much alive, and the misadventures of those residents who… aren’t.

Here you’ll find a beautiful setting, some gorgeous romance, lots of fun, and some intriguing ghostly residents who just want to make sure they have a say in what goes on. After all, life isn’t only for the living…

Book 1 ~ Kindred Spirits at Harling Hall

The first in a delightfully warm, cosy and romantic new series with a fantasy twist, for fans of the BBC series 'Ghosts'.

When single mum Callie visits Rowan Vale with her daughter, she is enchanted. The beautiful Cotswold village is run as a living museum, allowing tourists to see history in action. But there's more to the place than meets the eye...

To the residents' surprise, Callie is observed talking to several villagers she simply shouldn’t be able to see - as they’re ghosts. The elderly owner of the village, Sir Lawrence Davenport, then makes an astonishing offer: to sell Callie the whole estate for a tiny sum, if she agrees to protect the village’s present tenants and its headstrong spirits.

With a spectral lord of the manor and his imperious wife, a naughty 1940s schoolgirl and William Shakespeare's former tutor among them, it seems Callie’s role as owner wouldn’t be easy. And that’s without the added complication of Sir Lawrence’s disinherited grandson, the gorgeous Brodie.

Rowan Vale and Callie may need each other. But is this a match made in heaven or hell?

Fans of the BBC's Ghosts, or books by Lucy Jane Wood, Laurie Gilmore and Heidi Swain will love this heart-warming and magical novel.

Book 5 ~ Blithe Spirits on the Pumpkin Path

Coming soon! Discover the next BRAND NEW instalment in this cosy romance series with a magical twist! 🎃💫

Halloween is fast approaching, and in the beautiful Cotswold living history village of Rowan Vale, a day of events is planned. There'll be pumpkin carving, apple bobbing… and a not-so traditional midnight séance.

The spirit medium will be Melissa, better known as ‘Madam Mariska’ on television’s It’s Haunted! But Melissa is keeping a career-threatening secret: she’s lost her ghost-whispering abilities, and it’s her sister and general dogsbody assistant Verity who she relies on to contact the spirits.

With the resident village ghosts going on strike in protest at the booking, and sibling rivalry at its highest, it’s no wonder Verity is unhappy, and her feelings aren't helped by her unexpected attraction to the calm and beautiful Mia.

Leaving her sister to the midnight séance, Verity follows an illuminated pumpkin path to the stone circle on the edge of the village and does something very out of character… and which she hasn’t a clue how to fix.

Has she just changed life – and afterlife – in Rowan Vale forever?
